World Heart Day History

World Heart Day was started by World Heart Federation in 2000. It was started to enhance the awareness of the world about the Heart Diseases. And deaths caused due to Heart Attack and other Heart Diseases. Actually, World Heart Day was founded in 2000 to inform the people around the globe that heart disease and stroke are the World Leading causes of Death, claiming over 15 Million Deaths every year.

The World Heart Federation spreads the news that at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided if the main risk factors Like tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity, are controlled. Collaborators of the World Heart Federation include several major international non-profits such as the Indian Heart Association.
