Speech on Republic Day of India (26 January)
India’s Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th of January since 1950. On the same day in 1950, the Constitution of India was officially started. Though, it was prepared on 26th November but launched on 26 January.
On this day in 1950, India becomes the Democratic Republic and the official name of Country India become The Republic fo India. Celebrations are held every year on this day throughout the country.
The people of our country rule themselves and all are equal and free. The government of the People, by the People, for the People.
The Constitution of India was drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar which helped to replace the existing Government of India Act, 1935.
Hence, India becomes a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic on 26th January 1950. But the word ‘socialist’ and ‘secular’ was previously not present in the constitution. It was added in its 42nd amendment in 1976.
The fundamental rights and duties of the people of the Republic in India have been laid down in our constitution. Every citizen of India is equal in the eye of the law, and no one is to suffer because of religion, creed, caste, color.
The People celebrate this day with the whole family and students with their fellows and teachers. People wear new clothes and start the day with the National Anthem and National Song of India. or race.
Republic Day is a National holiday (Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day are two more National Holidays) and all the schools and colleges celebrate this day by organizing a little program and finally a parade of all boys and girls.
