Sindhu has won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics while Sun Yu is an upcoming Chinese player who has dominated the game for a year now. She was number nine in the rankings.

P V Sindhu defeated South Korea’s sung Ji Hyun 11-21, 23-21, 21-19 in the semi-finals round to book her spot in the finals to meet Sun Yu.

For third consecutive year, an Indian badminton woman player will be competing in the finals of China Open for the title. But this time Sandu not coming home with the defeat. She is coming back home with the title of China Open winner and trophy.

Indian girl PV Sindhu defeated favorite winner Sun Yu in just 69 minutes to win the China Open and collect her first Super Series title. The 21-year-old became the third non-Chinese woman to win the title after Malaysia’s Wong Mew Choo in 2007 and India’s own Saina Nehwal in 2014.
