EARLY LIFE and EDUCATION
Amitabh Bachchan was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father was Harivansh Rai Bachchan a very famous poet of that time till date. His mother Teji Bachchan was a Punjabi. Amitabh also has a younger brother Ajitabh.
Bachchan was not real surname of Amitabh or his father, their real surname was “Shrivastava”, Harivansh Rai adopted the surname “Bachchan”.
Amitabh got his graduation from Sherwood College, Nainital. After that he went to Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.
CAREER IN FILM INDUSTRY (70s’)
At the age of 27, In 1969, Bachchan made his film debut in film Bhuvan Shome as a voice narrator. In the same year he made his debut as a film actor from the film “Saat Hindustani” directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas.
“Anand” was the movie from which Amitabh started the journey of awards. He perform a side role in this movie as a doctor with superstar Rajesh Khanna. For this movie Amitabh Bachchan got his first Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award. After the success of “Anand”, he got popular in the Box – Office and get many movies back to back.
In 1973, “Zanjeer” a Prakash Mehra’s film was a super duper hit movie of that time. In this movie Amitabh plays a role of Inspector Vijay Khanna along with Pran. This movie give birth to “Angry Young Man”, new name of Amitabh Bachchan. After this Amitabh never looks back. Some of the producers says that Zanjeer was Amitabh first Hit Film because it changes the character of Amitabh, before that he made only comedy and sentimental movies.
Movies like Abhimaan, Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke, Faraar, etc got a great success on screen. Country start loving Amitabh Bachchan.
1975 was the year in which appeared in two, the one is “Deewaar” along with Shashi Kapoor, and other is “Sholay” a Sippy’s Film which became the highest grossing film of all time in India. In some of the theatres it stay for more than 6 months and earn more than 236 crore Indian Currency. “Sholay” got Filmfare Best Film of 50 Years. After these success, Amitabh appear in Kabhi kabhi in 1976 as a Romantic Hero, liked by all over the India.
In 1977, he won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for the movie “Amar Akbar Anthony”. It is super hit movie full of superstars like Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Praveen Booby, Pran, Nirupa Roy and so on.
“Don” in 1978, gives him second Filmfare Best Actor Award which is a thrilling and suspense movie with double role of Amitabh Bachchan.
Kasme Vaade(1978), Trishul(1978), Muqaddar ka Sikander(1978), Suhaag(1979), Ram Balram(1980), Laawaris(1981), Naseeb(1981), Satte Pe Satta(1982) Coolie(1983), are some of his back 2 back hits which took him to a new height.
INJURY IN THE MOVIE COOLIE
In July 1982, during the shooting of Manmohan Desai’s movie “Coolie”, Amitabh had an serious accident, at once he was close to death but people praises healed him.
Bachchan was performing his own stunts with the co-actor Puneet Issar in the film and one scene required him to fall onto a table and then on the ground. However, as he jumped towards the table, the corner of the table struck his abdomen, resulting in a splenic rupture from which he lost a significant amount of blood. He hospitalized very quickly, and he stay critical for some months. In 1983 he got well and worked again on the movie “Coolie” which was liked by the people and the movie was a box office hit.
LATE 80s and EARLY 90s
After a journey in the Politics, Amitabh retured in the Film Industry with some hits like Shahensha(1988), Hum(1991), Agneepath(1990), Khuda Gawah(1992) and some Flops like Jaadugar(1991), Toofan(1991), Main Azaad Hoon(1991), Insaaniyat(1994). Dialogues of Amitabh Bachchan were got very famous and popular in the Indian as well as nearby countries.
“Hum” in 1991 which gives him his third Filmfare Best Actor Award for a great performance in a action movie along with Rajnikanth and Govinda.
Amitabh didn’t appear in any movie from 1994 to 1998
AMITABH BACHCHAN LATER LIFE IN FILM INDUSTRY (2000 – Now)
Amitabh Bachchan fans waiting ends of seeing him onscreen after success of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan(1998). Sooryavansham(1999) and Lal Badshah(1999) are also hits acted by Amitabh after his comeback.
In 2000, a Yash Chopra’s movie “Mohabbatein” gives Amitabh his third Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award. In this movie Amitabh played a role of Headmaster in a Gurkul College. The film based on three love stories along with Shahrukh Khan’s love with Aishwarya Rai who is daughter of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.
Amitabh Bachchan was also seen in Kabhi khushi Kabhi Gam(2001), Baghban(2003) super hits along with average movies like Khakee(2004), Dev(2004),etc.
Amitabh Bachchan was seen with his son Abhishek Bachchan first time in movie Bunty Aur Bubly(2005) which was a super hit movie in that year, with the song “Kajrare Kajrare” in which both Son and Father Dance on a stage.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Cheeni kam, Shoot out at Lokhandwal are quite accepted by the fans.
In 2009 a movie named “Paa” was a very different movie in which Amitabh Bachchan played role of a 13 years old child suffered with Progeria. Abhishek acted as father of Amitabh Bachchan in the movi. The movie was highly anticipated by the fans and get good reviews. Abhishek Bachchan got his fifth Filmfare Best Actor Award and third Film Award for Best Actor for this movie.
Bhootnath(2008), Buddah Hoga Tera Baap(2011), Bol Bachchan(2012), BhootnathReturn(2014), Piku(2015) are some more latest hit movies in which Amitabh Bachchan was seen.
He also give his voice in many movies like Lagaan(2001), Jodha Akbar(2008), Krrish(3) and so many more.

Amitabh Bachchan gives his voice in many songs like Jumma Chumma, Mere Angne Mein, Do Lafzon ki, Piddly si Baatein, Main hoon don and many more. He also also sung in some none movie songs like kabhi nahin, Lift karade with Adnan Sami etc.
